Google Pixel And Pixel XL Bluetooth Connection Issues

The new Google Pixel and Pixel XL has a recurring issue that many new owners will notice quite early I into using the device. Bluetooth connectivity on this device can be a problem. Here we go over a quick solution that you can try in order to amend this issue. Google has yet to release an update with a fix to the problem.

It is an issue that many motorists may recognize from trying to connect their previous devices to many Bluetooth systems built within a variety of different car models, including some Mercedes, Nissans and others. There are a range of ways to address the issue.


Clear your cache

The first method you can try is a good cache clear out. Follow this guide to clear the cache.

The main purpose of the cache is to make it easier for users to switch from app to app by storing essential information in temporary files. Once you have followed the guide mentioned above, give the connection a try. You should notice a vast improvement. If that has not worked, you can try this following these steps:

  1. Start at the Home screen and then go to apps.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Go to the Application Manager.
  4. Move through the Tabs by swiping left or right.
  5. Go to Bluetooth.
  6. Select to stop it forcefully.
  7. Now clear the cache
  8. Select clear the Bluetooth data
  9. Select Ok
  10. Finally the phone to see if it has worked.



Recover mode

If the idea outlined above did not work, the next thing you can try is setting your Pixel or Pixel XL to Recovery Mode and wiping the Cache Partition. Here is a guide that you can follow to wipe the cache partition.

Once you have done this take your Pixel or Pixel XL to a nearby bluetooth device that you know works with other units.
