Google Pixel And Pixel XL: How To Enable And Disable Private Mode

If you own a Google Pixel or Pixel XL, you may be interested in using its ability to function in and out of private mode. It’s a great feature that allows you to keep certain content away from view of other users.

There are a number of ways to activate private mode. It can be used to hide all types of files including videos, images and more. The content you hide can only be seen if you have the required passcode or know the unlock sequence.

Follow this guide to disable or activate Private Mode on your Pixel or Pixel XL.

 

Enable Private Mode

  1. Bring down the list of options by swiping the screen from top to bottom.
  2. Tap Private Mode.
  3. If entering the mode for the first time, a tutorial will start. Here you’ll be able to create a pin code. This code will be needed every time you use Private Mode.

 

To disable Private Mode

  1. Bring down the list of options by swiping the screen from top to bottom.
  2. Tap Private Mode.
  3. Your Pixel or Pixel XL should return to normal.

 

Adding and removing files from Private Mode

Follow these steps to add and remove the files you want hidden, They can be photos, videos and all types of media.

  1. Make sure Private Mode is On.
  2. Select the photo or file that needs to be hidden.
  3. In the upper right corner there is an option Overflow menu.
  4. Tap Move to Private.

 

Now the files you selected should only be visible in private mode. You can remove each file from private mode through the same menu.
