You probably do not think that much about this option, until you really begin to feel the need of adjusting the font size on your iPhone or iPad in iOS 10.3. Some users do it for medical reasons, as they are suffering from visual issues. Others simply prefer a particular font size. And there are also users who notice how third-party apps come with too big or too small fonts and would appreciate the opportunity of tweaking this feature a little bit.
Not too long ago, when Apple released the iOS 8, users had this possibility to adjust font and text sizes. With iOS 10.3, users can do it too, but with the added benefit of more control on the apps that support Dynamic Type.
This is why in this article, we’re going to show you not one, but two different methods on how to increase the font size on iPhone and iPad running on iOS 10.3.
Method #1 – increasing font size on apps that support dynamic type
As mentioned, this is a special feature for the special apps out there. If you increase font size into dynamic type on iPhone and iPad in iOS 10.3, you’ll notice that it really makes reading a breeze, no matter the type of text you’re looking at. Here is how to enable it:
- Go to the General tab, under the Settings app;
- Tap on Accessibility;
- Select Larger Text;
- Switch to the Larger Accessibility Sizes;
- Drag the slider and adjust from there your ideal text size.
Method #2 – increasing the font size on iPhone and iPad in iOS 10.3
This is the standard method for adjusting font sizes. It also relates to the Settings of the device, but the path is visibly different:
- Go to Settings;
- Access the Display and Brightness tab;
- In the newly opened window, you will have two editing options – the text size and the bold format.
When you want to edit the size of the text, you will have to tweak a slider, just like on method #1 described above. If you drag to the left you decrease the size, if you drag to the right you increase the size.
When you want to activate the bold format, you will get a notification that the device is about to restart: “Applying this setting will restart your device”. Just tap on the Continue button and let it restart.
Once the iPhone or iPad in iOS 10.3 restarts, the font adjustments should be instantly visible.
