Taking a screen capture from Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus can be a very useful feature on different occasions. Whether you’re trying to capture some valuable text, remember an interesting web address for later reference or just trying to send something to someone in a unique way, an instant photograph of your smartphone screen is doable.
The good news is that performing this simple action is rather similar on all the Samsung devices available on the market. But if you’ve never done it before or can’t remember for sure how to do it, here’s a short guide that will freshen up your memory.
How to screen capture on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus
In order to activate the screen capture function and photograph whatever it is on your display at a given time, you need to simultaneously press the Home and the Power buttons of the smartphone. Press and hold until you hear that distinct shutter noise and the capture will be created automatically.
Right after that, a drop-down notification will appear on the screen. If you tap on it, you’ll be redirected to see the Screen Capture that you have just performed.
But there’s also an alternative method that only involves a screen swipe. Of course, not any swipe of the screen will get you captures. Before that, you need to enable a special swipe function in Android.
Go to the main Menu and, from there, access the Settings. Look for the Motions and Gestures menu and tap on it. Once in there, you should notice another option labeled as “Palm swipe to capture”. Activate it and, from now on, you can take screen captures with simple and fast swipes.
It’s your call whether you prefer the first one or the second one, which actually involves paying more attention to how you swipe on the display when you’re not really looking to take a screen capture…
