If you were used seeing us discussing common issues with the Galaxy devices, this article might surprise you a little bit. Today, we’re not going to focus on problems, but rather on handy features that you might not know of, or at least that you might not know how to make the best of. To be more specific, we’d like to show you that you can print from your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Plus, using whatever wireless printer you have at hand.
Just think of all those emails and their attachments, images or PDF files, short presentations or anything else stored on your phone and that you could really use transferring on paper. Just so you know, your Android software is already equipped with the printing essentials. As long as you also have a wireless printer at hand, you’re a few minutes away from learning how to print from your mobile phone.
By default, the device has a list of printers that it can recognize right away. We’ll show you how to get there and how to select your printer in an instant but bear in mind that there are still options left even if your current printer isn’t on that list.
First things first, expect to gain access to the printing options, something you should do from the Apps icon, right on the Home Screen.
- So, go to the Home Screen;
- Bring up the content of the Apps icon;
- Select the Settings menu;
- Select the Connect & Share submenu;
- Select the Printing Button.
This is the part where you’ll have to select the wireless printer you intend to use in the process, just as we have mentioned above. The selection of the Printing Button option will expand that list with available printers.
In case you can’t find your printer on that list, the Plus symbol will redirect you to Google Play, the app from where you can search for and download the software required for recognizing and using your particular printer.
Back to Settings, at Connect & Share, simply use the Printing Button and, this time, your newly installed printer will be visible in there. Select it, wait for the device to scan for it and find it, and you’re ready to print. The only situation when you might be having problems with identifying the printer is when you forget to turn it On! So, make sure your printer is up and ready to run before you have your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ Plus scan for it.
As a final step of the printing process, you’ll go through some features like the print quality, document layouts, 1-side or 2-sided printing etc.
