Ever since the Always On Display became available, which is long before the release of Samsung Galaxy S9, people had this conundrum… Keeping the Always On Display feature active will really take up considerably less battery than the repeated lock and unlock of the display, throughout the day? The answer will obviously differ from one user to another. Some people really don’t make a big fuss about their smartphones. But if you do check your phone gazillion times a day, you might notice that you’re better with the Always On Display turned On…
After all, this is the reason why Samsung developed this feature, to help active users save battery. They get to see the most important notifications and the date and time details on the locked screen. They no longer have to manually check for notifications or just for the clock that often. And the phone stays locked as long as it doesn’t display any interesting message on the Always On Display.
And just so you know, Samsung hasn’t invented the wheel with it. Others before have thought about it and certainly, others will do the same after Samsung.
Do You Want To Activate The Always On Display For The Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus?
- Open up the Settings menu, right from the Apps icon sitting on the Home Screen;
- Next, select the Device tab, with one swipe to the right side of the screen;
- Look for the Display submenu listed in there and select it;
- Finally, identify the Always On Display entry and tap on it – the toggle next to this entry will switch to On.
Now leave all these settings and lock the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S9. The Always On Display feature should already be visible and you can start enjoying this awesome feature. If you’ll ever have the feeling that it is no longer necessary, retake these steps and switch its toggle back to Off.
